only symptoms were after dive 2 small sunburn type sensation on my stomach, after dive 3 it was so painful it felt like a burn injury. hours later i got fever and the chills as well as labored breathing. i still have labored breathing but no pain in joints whatsoever.

My problem was the lack of decompression time, 5 straight 80ft dives on a underwater sea mount some short safety stops on the anchor line but had to cut the safety stop short because the dive master was almost out of air, and I was sharing his air, my tank was completely dry!

Get well soon for that Apo Reef trip hopefully you can bring backsome good pictures, instead of the bends.

How on earth did you let yourself get in that situation?

thanks buddy! by the way how did your divemaster get you in that predicament? dont get me wrong should you be doing 5 dives with those kind of profiles with less than 15 dives? seems like you guys are playing with fire:) , always have ample rock bottom reserves for you and your buddy.

Sorry to hear about the problem but glad to hear that it was "minor".

thanks bud. it was in fact minor and could have been worse. ive had more aggressive profiles in my reckless past but never gotten symptoms like that painful blotch and labored breathing. i am seriously considering the fact that i did my 6-8k run on pavement after a sleepless night before diving a serious factor in me being more prone to dcs on that particular day.

Cant believe I missed this thread so far.

Glad youre ok Spoon. We all know diving in the Philippines is a little bit more unconservative than other places. Mainly it is because we are not exposed to these incidents and we all feel it cant happen to us. With this board and text messages, we are all getting the message. "I am human and it CAN happen to me"

No problemo Spoon, I was wondering when somebody would catch on to my stated profile vs the deco. dive (or lack of enough deco.)

If you notice that the profile asks for the number of "logged'" dives, well I stop logging my dives 600 actual dives ago!

It was not really the divemaster's fault even though he is a close friend. If you can recall we were diving on a sea mount, I dive mostly drop offs, so when I am almost out of air I hang around the top of the reef to vent, for about ten minutes while waiting for the bangka pick up.

I'am sorry but that sea mount just had way too many things to see! Next time I think we will hang a spare tank at 25 feet.

Look forward to seeing your pics from your coming Apo trip, pictures go along way to promote diving in the Philippines.

Hi Paul

Where in Mindanao is Sarangani Bay? Do get me wrong, I have been to Mindanao, a great place but did not get a chance to dive there maybe next time.
