Anyone for a dive or two at Guppy Gulch this Sunday. I've got some new equipment that I want to try out.

Sean

I wont be there this Sunday, but I will probably be there next weekend solo. My sister in law is doing her checkouts and I figured I would tag along.

I'm planning on being there next Sunday also.

I'm debating on going up there this weekend, not sure yet though.

What kind of exposure suit would you recommend for this time of the year there? I wore a 5mm about two weeks ago and was fine, but the air is a little colder now.

Phil

You still should be okay with the 5mm, as it sounds like you are pretty cold-tolerant. You cant go wrong in the quarry with a 7mm or drysuit, since the water temps dont seem to vary much during the year.

I usually use a 7mm suit. I'd rather be too warm than too cold during a dive. I'm going to call over there tomorrow to find out the current conditions and how many other dive training groups will be in the water.

I can take cold water ok, 95' at Bainbridge was about 35-40°F when I did my deep dive for AOW in August, and I was fine in a 7mm FJ.

If I go, I will probably just be wearing a 5mm(since I don't feel like renting a 7mm, and 3mm and 5mm are my only options) and I'll just stay above the first thermocline if it's too cold.

Do you guys care if I tag alone if I can make it up there and don't have a buddy?

(Post up the conditions and all if you call)

Per Aquatic Connection dive shop, the current temps are in the 60s and the visibility is at 10-20'.
