I doing a trip on the Gulf Stream Eagle (West Palm Beach) to Grand Bahama at the end of this month (3/23/- 3/27). Any tips regarding the operation, what to take, what not to take will be appreciated.

The Gulf Stream Eagle runs a good operation. Take plenty of sunscreen, insect repellant, and backup supply for scuba as I am sure you are aware (batteries, straps, etc.). They had a carbonated soda machine with about 5-6 drink choices on it, but if you want anything special to drink (beer, booze) you could bring it on board. Most of the reefs around Grand Bahama are in the 55'-70' range and will give you alot of time on the bottom. They usually do a shark feeding trip on the way home, and sometimes troll for fish.

Water should be 73 -76? You will do a lot of diving and the night dive on the sugar wreck will be cold. Bring a minimum of a full 3mm with hood if you want to be comfortable. I would bring a 5 mm with hood, just to stay warm.

The "town" ain't much!

Hey diveprof how are you? I am going on that same trip, I can't wait to shove off! This is my 2nd liveaboard, I did Blackbeards two years ago. I'm local to the Gulf Stream Eagle and she is an impressive vessel. I look forward to meeting you on the boat!
