I see you have a good size boat in your profile picture and list boating as an interest. How's that electric powered boat working out for you

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUhhhhhh Are you serious? That is my fathers boat, and it sees the water approximately twice a friggin' year. I haven't been on his boat in over 5 years because we DON'T see eye to eye. His attitude is quite like yours and as long as it remains that way we WILL NOT speak much. That is how passionate I feel about these issues. Thank you very little. The last 10 dives I did were from the beach, carpooled to the site. Tell me how you did your last 10 dives and how you arrived?

Why when someone advocates for energy usage alternatives and changes that support green alternatives do you automatically analyze the person arguing for changes. We all live in a society where it can be impossible to find a green alternative and in some cases cost prohibitive (oh wait that is just free market pressure right? [note sarcasm]). When someone argues against you, your dont actually support your argument by automatically saying "haha, you hypocrite, you use gasoline." Same old conservative (read anti environmental, pro-oil) BS argument over and over. Just trying to make a difference may be the best some people can do. You shouldn't point fingers until you change your life around by using no oil. Then you can say drill, baby, drill.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees this and is irritated by it.....

Infrastructure not being there is true but a terrible excuse. I honestly thought that with some of this huge stimulus money we would have seen plans executed that involved things like hydro-electric and rail. Instead I see that they built a cute little bus stop in my town...not more buses just a nice bus stop...way to go.

The majority of these funds went to perpetuate bloated government, pay increases for said bloated government, delusional & greedy unions, etc.. etc.. The little funds made available to the private sector were directed to congressional earmark nonsense like the late John Mutha family shell compaines, i.e, a rat hole. We are looking quite Greek like every day...

Sorry, but I simply cannot resist. They don't come any more "progressive" than this guy. Talk about bad timing...

Obama to Open Offshore Areas to Oil Drilling for First Time - NYTimes.com

In a way it was such good timing that one could build a conspiracy theory out of it on the scale of Roswell, or the Kennedy assassination.

It goes something like this:

In the rush to distance themselves from W., America elects a President who is so far left he is really a communist in disguise. In his rush to bring economic ruin to the country, he wheels and deals to establish a budget busting set of health care reforms. In the horse trading to establish health care he agrees to open up offshore drilling. But, as a tree hugging, garden growing, granola eating, bicycle riding, left wing, commie that will never do. He hatches a plan to stop the drilling before it starts. In the great tradition of his predecessor Richard M. Nixon, friend to all communists (or the Chinese anyway), he decides laws and morality should never stand in the way of a good thing. Covertly attaining the services of a few good men he sabotages a drilling platform in the Gulf of Mexico. After a couple weeks of oil erupting into the gulf no one can fault him for going back on the deal to open up offshore oil drilling. After that everyone is happy, and for those who aren't, well the euthanasia boards will deal with them.

Bingo.... Its the American way. The old bait and switch tactic, the public falls for it every time....
You forgot 9/11/01, the day our soldiers are still dying for in the name of...... here it comes boys and girls.....TERRORIST......

I dont support this, nor do I think he is handling this oil spill situation well. I bring up the conservative reference solely because the need for more oil and less reliance on greener technologies is something attributable to the republican party. Regardless, I shouldn't have made the reference, because I really dont want this to be, nor do i want to get involved in, a political argument.
