I said neither because you don't have either a pressure or a percentage. You have a certain quantity (ie number of moles) of oxygen in your body. Concepts like percentage or pressure are useful for dealing with how your particular quantity of something relates to some other quantity, but they don't tell you anything about actual quantity.nova:do you have a percentage of oxygen in your body or do you have a pressure of oxygen ?

If you want to discuss whether or not the term "oxygen window" is valid nomenclature we can certainly do that. But that really doesn't have any bearing on my answer to your question regarding whether I have a precentage or pressure of oxygen in my body, now does it?
But what a minute... So I need an oxygen pressure of 0.21 ATA at sea level, check. And if I go up a mountain to where the the total pressue is 0.5 ATA then I'll still have a oxygen precentage of 21% but only have an oxygen pressure of 0.105 ATA, check. But I don't want to get a headache from hypoxia so I bring a bottle EAN42 with me. Now I'm breathing PO2 of 0.21 again and my headache is gone. Great! Now, why did my headache go away? Was it because I'm now getting the same pressure of oxygen or the same amount of oxygen that I was at sea level?nova:when you travel to the mountains the total percentage of O2 is still 21% but it's the ata pressure that changes, as the oxygen pressure changes , this can cause headache and shortness of breath. This is known as HYPOXIA , a condition brought on by to little oxygen

You ask me not to come across as holier than thow, you ask me to state my case , Ive even let the "stupid arguement" comment slip by. If you want to write me off as a mindless lemming who's too blinded by dogma to understand logic and science, well then so be it.
