This happened on the 20th, but the as the days go by, I just get madder...

My neighbors dog(s) took a chunk out of my baby! (see avatar...) She now has 2 1/2 inches of stitches in front of her left hip, a huge shaved patch, and one of those head cones till the 30th...

She is being really good about it, though - still wants to play, sleeps in her regular place up on the bed. Oh, and is loving the wet dog food she is getting so I have something to hide her pills in :-)

How long does it take dog fur to grow out, anyway?

I don't know about the fur growing back but I hope your baby is ok. I have dogs too and I really hate to hear this. So what happened to the other dog? It sounds like a dangerous dog, I mean what if your dog had been a little, tiny fluff ball? Hope your pup is back to health real soon. Choco :007:

Nothing, I guess. Her owner said she would try and keep a better eye on her, and get a chain link enclosure for the backyard (she wasn't home at the time.) She offered to pay our vet bill, but we can afford it better than she can. I don't think she's actually vicious, just old and crabby...

dangerous? You know this only from the fact that one dog bit another? We don't know relative sizes, personality, training, details from the day....

Christine... I sympathize...and hope things go well during the recovery...I just got a new puppy myself, and wish a long really cool life for her...She is surely taking alot of our time keeping our furniture from being chewed up...

Hi Christine, Eventhough your writing the bite off to "old & crabby" I would still make a report out with the animal control office. It would be bad enough if it happened to another dog, but Lord help everyone if a child should inadvertantly do something to trigger 'old & crabby' to bite again. Better to establish a history and hopefully avert another problem.

I have a short hair lab that had surgery 5 maybe 6 weeks ago and his coat is about 2/3rd's filled in now. He still has a definite contour line but it's all black hair now so it's hardly noticable. Good luck with her and the lamp shade. Agh, the indignity of it all.
