Hello all. I am new to Scubaboard since late July, but have already experienced the generous helpfulness of your members. Thanks to Angie D. (her handle on this network is cx.....) I got back into diving after an 8 year hiatus and went solo to Cozumel for a week of 16 dives! I am rehooked.

I live in Boston and have mainly dived the Caribbean, Hawaii, and off of NC coast. I did a scuba refresher up here at Rockport and liked being able to do a shore dive but could use an experienced N England dive buddy with whom to practice all the new skills related to full wet suit and lower visibility. I am committed now to not let my skills get so rusty again. I was downright nervous before my first dive but by the end of the week, was feeling really comfortable.

I don't know all that many divers having been out of it for a while, so I am also interested in like-minded divers with whom I could hook up for trips to Cozumel and Roatan, for example.

I am a lively 50 year old educator and in a previous life did research on the coral reef in Saint Croix with months of daily diving.

I have both my basic open water and advanced open water and specialty divers' certification.

I am fairly new to the sport and love it I am on the South Shore but woul;d not mind diving north of Boston Let me know
Thanks
Bob

Welcome to the board. Very cool that you did research in STX on the reef. Quite jealous. Would love to do that type of work.

I am going to STX next month for the first time and would love to hear what rec's you might have for us to do and see on the island. We'll be there for 10 days so we'll have plenty of time.

I am sure you will find a dive buddy or several actually from the board. Everyone here is extremely helpful.

Thanks for the warm welcome Scuba board members! I will keep you updated on my scuba adventures! Holly

Hey Boston, MA, RI whatever, CT new diver here just looking to put in dive time either local in the N. East or tropical. Recent OW, AOW and Nitrox certs so I'm looking to start out on mellow reef, wreck dives etc. or even some more freshwater stuff.
On a buddy hunt.......................

bostondiver- welcome to SB. I moved to Caqtalina Island from Boston 34 years ago. Diving is much better here. Wish you guys well against the Yankees and hope my Cuvvies meet (and, sorry, beat) you in the Series!
