I have only been diving a little over 3 years, but I have been in the gulf a lot. The water this weekend was very greenish. I have never seen it like that. The vis wasnt terrible, but all the green tinge made the viz seem bad.

Any explanations?

Destins waters are naturally emerald colored, year round... June/July its usually covered in sea weed... The tide exchange more then likely has something to do with it. Inter-coastal waters are pretty nasty, when the tide is going out and your anywhere near the inlet vis will go to crap quickly. If your offshore diving the reef it shouldn't normally be an issue at depth unless there is a storm or algae bloom.
