It is a large Million Gallon Tank that houses open ocean creatures like bluefin tuna and other open ocean sharks-It is not a roundabout tank like the Steinhart aquarium that housed the last captive great wht. It is quite impressive I might add..I think I sat there for 30 minutes last visit, mesmerized by the giant tuna (some are over 600lbs)! :11:

A tad off the topic but a couple years ago I was DJ'ing a huge corporate party at The Aquarium and they set me up right against the gigantic tank! The people danced right in that area! Crazy party! Coolest I've ever done and do hundreds and hundreds. To be exact, the company rented the entire aquarium and they had food stations and bars all over the place. I even think they had a sushi station (in bad taste if you ask me) :) Anyhow, That tank is awe inspiring to be near.

wow that sounds real cool, if it makes it i will definitely have to go and see that! ishie are you ready to go dive monterey again.

I wish I could head out there and see that too, but 3000 miles is a bit far of a trip to visit a fish...lol...I would find it hard to explain to my company WHY I wanted the time off....lol

I live about five hours from Monterey and I know that the place will be packed saturday and I'm still thinking about it.
Bonzai up and back.

Tell them you're visiting a poor little girl that was pulled out of the ocean. You'll probably get a raise!!

FYI, this Sunday, 9/19 and next Sunday, 9/26 are family days at the MBA. Children 12 and under get in free. Not that the GWS isn't enough reason to get us through the doors of the aquarium =)

I just got back from Monterey and I saw the little Great White! Totally awesome (cute actually)!!!!!!! Gorgeous little girl. I was in awe. Leave your camreas at home, you cannot us flash because it upsets her. They are very strict about htis rule and rightfully so. I was blown away she looks great and they said she's been eating!!! Salmon fillets to be exact. That's a great sign. If you have the time you gotta go.
