This is the first internet group I have ever joined and this is my first "posting" to a bulletin board. I own a unit in the Regal Beach Club condominium on Grand Cayman Island, Seven Mile Beach. I have been diving Grand Cayman with my son for several years now and desperately want to know how the island is faring after Hurricane Ivan.

Welcome aboard! I also have a condo on Seven Mile Beach very near the Marriot. I have gotten reports that it has no roof and was under 20 feet of water at one time. Not good. Since you just returned from GC..... I have been trying to contact my friends at Ocean Frontiers on the East End but cannot get through the mobile phones....
Anything you can tell me about how the East End fared with the storm? Please?

The east end was evacuated early and I don't believe there are any fatalities. The facilities suffered tremendous damage. No electricity or running water. The big issue now is mosquitos and disease. BTW, the local cell phone service works but hard to reach from here.sharkdiver00:
