Thanks Testudo !!!

A bit of a drive...the island is minuscule! I sometimes drive 1 hr to a restaurant, then spend 10+ mins waiting in line for parking...lol

Is 7 miles beach really that long? Seems much shorter.

Calypso Grill has the best fish IMHO. A bit of a drive from Turtle Nest Inn, but so worth it. Morgan's Harbour next door is also good if Calypso is packed.

As in, something as fancy & nice as Mama's Fish House in GC...;)

Gotcha. Your original post said Mama's Fish House in Maui, HI and I just went "huh?"

Sounds like I could walk anywhere I wanted to go in GC. I routinely walk 12 on "my" island, Bogue Banks.

Going to need to do a lot of walking to make up for all the eating.

If we ever get out of the RC spa!

With your attitude, you'll be fine. I would guess if will take 30-45 minutes depending on traffic/time of day, etc...We stay on the North Side and it is about an hour's + drive from there. Only restaurant on the island we would do that for (have not yet been to Blue or Ostera Bay which may be as good). Seven Mile Beach is actual 5.5 miles in length. I guess if included the ironshore on each end you might approach 7 miles.

Calypso grill is aprox. 40 min utes from Turtle Nest Inn during non rush hour.In my opinion it is pricey, the food is good ,probably $100. per couple on the low end.I much prefer Morgans Harbor next door.Morgans harbor has an all you can eat BBQ on every other Sunday which is very good.I have no idea why it is every other Sunday.

You "could" walk anywhere you wanted to go on GC (as Steven Wright said "Everywhere is within walking distance if you have the time."), but it's not a very pedestrian friendly island, especially between Bodden Town and George Town. Be sure you're looking the correct direction for traffic.

Blasphemy, you are messing with my religion now. I'm an Eastern North Carolinian.

Best dive sites...Most all of the North Wall and Big Tunnel, Orange Canyon and Trinity Caves
.

Best eating...for Calypso Grill (not cheap), it used to be my favorite was the Crows Nest (gone with the hurricane) as they had the best mahi Caymanian style, for the beach this place is nice:

For something strange, near Bodden town there's this:

For snacks, Rum Point is nice:

For shopping it's the Cayman Mall:

Cool, some funky stuff, thanks caymaniac!

I really really appreciate all of the input. As I stated up front, someone else gets to pay for this trip. All of it. So doing some homework up front will make it a lot more fun. Can't wait.
