Singh's Roti Shop - fantastic food! Not too expensive, either. Good local place in the middle of George Town.

How about . . . the Fanciest? Like Mama's Fish House in Maui HI.

LOL I just realized a few days ago, I got a rental car, I have to drive on the OTHER side of the ride. Looks like I'll be avoiding night-time driving.

Brings back memories of the Griswald family on their European Vacation...

It's actually pretty easy. Most of the intersections have been turned into round-a-bouts. Once you're on the correct side of the road, it's hard not to stay there. I have a harder time going back to driving on the right (as opposed to left) side of the road when I come back.

Good point Mark and Bill. I don't know if we will get a car or not. Depends on the availability of cabs and whether or not we need/want to go very far from our resort. I've driven in the UK. And my little city here has just put in a few roundabouts. It is hysterical watching folks learn how to use them.

They have buses the drive up and down 7 mile beach every 10 minutes. 5 dollars US per person anywhere you want to go. They have cabs too but the bus is cheaper

Staying on 7 mile beach gives you access to lots of restuarants etc.within walking distance.Cabs are expensive but there is also a bus system which ,I believe,is from $1.50 to $3.00 per trip.

Here is a website for the bus routes .;

If you do rent a car get one with the steering on ,what we consider,the passenger side it makes it easier.

The thing to watch for is the hundreds of cruise tourists downtown who look to their left (but not right) before stepping off the curb. We almost got two...:D

The Turtle Nest Inn, rents with car included !

I plan to rent tanks & weights for many hours of shallow dives just a 25 feet walk from my rental unit into the ocean. Also some other shore dives around the island.

I found a diving map!!! For sale on eBay, from a guy in Vancouver at 9.95$. Being in Canada my shipping was free. I saw a similar map for sale in Maui HI also at 10$.
Link to the "store" on eBay.

Thanks for the tip. I suspect we will not get a car, unless the island looks like one where we want to explore and not just go from point A to B.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions on all fronts. Should be a good time.
