Go to a pool supply store and look at skimmer baskets

The basket is a convenience - parts can be placed directly into the tub. I'd also look into using just vinegar & water (anywhere between 20-50%) but don't let the parts just cook. remove and rinse them as soon as the verdigris is gone - soft bristle brush helps too for badly corroded parts. The acid will eat and dull the pretty plating if left too long. $50!? - you got a great deal there.

with the heated ones and solo cups or paint cups though you want to have it stood off a bit so it doesn't melt on the metal. Seen that happen before, definitely not cool lol. Nothing wrong with metal to metal though

I looked at Home Depot and Lowe’s and couldn’t figure out a suitable basket, so I did what tbone advised and picked up some paint cups for the time being.

I re-purposed plastic baskets from baby bottle microwave/dishwasher use... yeah, she is 16 now.... I seem to hoard things... but at this time it worked out...
