Just sold some stuff online and now I have a $350 balance in my Paypal account!

I've been real good and haven't bought anything (besides snorkeling stuff) sinch I've discovered and decided to get into scuba. It's been a rough month, because I sooo want to buy something! :)

Some local Pacific NW divers here have offered to let me try out some of there equipment later after I get certified, so I'm going to hold off on BC's, Reg's, Computer's, and the like for now, but is there any no brainer purchases I can blow my $350 on in the meantime? :D hehe

One thing I'm looking at is an underwater camera enclosure for my Cannon A70, but that's only $150 or so. Still leaves me $200 for other toys!

So what would you get?

Cheers,
Jason

Uncle Pug:
Jason... have Paypal cut you a check. You have some big ticket items coming up and you will need it and nine more just like it.

Sad but so very very true.

Have you started getting certified yet?

Jason

I'd be glad to help take it off your hands. I'd like to send my daughter to a deaf school this summer in Boston.... :) Always happy for donation! :)

hahah

enjoy.............

Yea, I have 1 more pool session before my first OW dive (besides the intro dives I took in Hawaii) this weekend. I've also signed up for and paid for the dry suite cert / class, so all my OW dives will be in a dry suit.

Yea, and I realize that I should save the money. But camera enclosure aside, there must be something EVERY diver needs that I can buy now to hold me over. Since I just sold some "junk" around the house, it's a bit of a windfall.

I suppose I could pay for a Scubaboard membership too? They take paypal?

Maybe I could use it for a DAN membership?

see ... I'd sell you something unique for that $200 !

how about a vial of sand from the Marianas trench ??? (well... near the top of said trench, but still... if you follow the slope down from there, you could get to about 38,000 FSW)

Like Uncle Pug said, save the money. Paypal will deposit the money in your account. Once you complete your ow dives and play with your friend's stuff, you're going to want to get your own gear. $200, even $350, won't even put a dent in all the stuff you're going to want to get.

For that $350 you could get a Suunto Mosquito computer that you will find very useful. Another idea would be a wetsuit. Can be used for other watersports too. I'd wait on the camera case until you get more experience and have more of your own life support equipment.

My suggestion since you have snorkle gear:
1. computer
2. wetsuit
3. regulators
4. BC
5. other dive toys
