So I already know the official answer to this but just curious if anyone has ever pushed the depth rating on the GoPro Hero3+ Standard Housing which is rated to depths of up to 131 feet (40 meters).

I've had the standard housing down to ~160fsw for brief periods which obviously so not supported and likely would void any warranty if it flooded.
I have a couple deeper dives coming up where I'd like to take the GoPro but havent bought a new housing yet.

I'll probably order a 3rd party housing or the actual GoPro Hero3+ Dive Housing very soon but just curious if anyone has pushed the Standard Diving housing to 170fsw -180fsw (~51-55m) without flooding or even tested it in a pressure pot?

I've taken my Hero3 to 350' (106m) in the stock housing. I wasn't planning to, but there was another group of cc divers on my boat who all swore they routinely took their stock housings too 100m and below. So I cleaned dust/debris off of the o-ring and lubed it up with silicone and gave it a shot. Camera survived fine, but the memory card was shot. Could have been a coincidence. No moisture inside of housing.

I'm working up a plan for 400' next month, including 31 minutes below the rated housing depth. Not sure if I'll risk it, but I was toying with the idea:cool2:. Perhaps I'll carve out some of my helium budget and get an aluminum housing, but even if I do, I'd like to test the stock case with some sort of dummy filler inside to mimic a rigid camera.

I've taken the Hero3 housing to 250 ffw for 30 minutes and 280 ffw for 5 minutes. No problems.
