anyone know a good website to check out reviews/comparisons of BC's Reg's etc...

i'm looking to purchase a lot of scuba gear, and i'd like to find someplace to research.... thanks!

Well, you could start here or you could post a recommendation request on this forum and have 75 people tell you to get a BP/Wing even if it isn't what is right for you... ;)

The BP/Wings combo gives you the best mix of the following:

1. Getting respect at the quarry even though you have 10 dives
2. The right to make condescending remarks about anyone who wears a jacket style BCD
3. Inclusion in the "I am an expert diver" club - regardless of actual skill level

BP/Wings is the barebones ultra-customizable set-up that all hard core aspiring tech divers ultimately seem to migrate too. Most people who have gone that route have formed a cult whose main mission is to make everyone else follow - right or wrong.

:Peace:

as someone who claimed to be very happy with my BC and who openly scoffed at those who were going the bp/w route.... I have to say, people are drawn to it because it works.

I now have a couple dives in with a bp/w and it's comfy, light, streamlined and very easy to dive. Thus, mine will be arriving shortly.

It's not very easy to describe the difference but going back to my old (current) BC after diving in a bp/w made the BC feel bulky, awkward, and unduly complicated.

P.S. For all those that feel they owe me an "I told you so!"; yes, you did.

I only have a couple comments here.

bisquit - please turn on your sarcasm detector...

it is about looking for gear reviews. A bp/w was brought up, by you, I replied in an honest and non-judgemental way, you gave a very biased and obnoxious response. I responded by pointing out your errors.

Since it's off topic, if you would like to discuss this further, may I suggest a PM.
