WarmWaterDiver:
However, Dive Rite is marketing the 2 mix capable NiTek Plus at a substantial discount currently..

*Ears perk up*

Substantial discount? Do tell! I've only seen it for $299.

Well, there's this thread a few spaces down . . . which has a suggestion to call Scubatoys as one option

Dive Rite Express used to have the Plus priced significantly higher than the Duo - you could see the Apeks Pulse (anagram of "Plus" with that UK habit of adding a vowel) price vs. Apeks Quantum for a frame of prior reference

I remember the NiTek Plus advertised at around US$499 when I got my TUSA IQ-700 (for less than US$389 often advertised price) a while back.

I would recommend the suunto gekko. Very user friendly. Conservative and very reliable. I hardly ever have suunto's come back in for service. Oceanics on the other hand....

I don't really care about downloading to my PC. If a hack is available to allow the Gekko to do it, I guess I can figure it out if I decide I want that feature. The main thing I want is Nitrox compatibility because I foresee taking a Nitrox course after a few dives with my OW certification.

This thread and a little research has me leaning heavily towards the Gekko, though. To answer Hemlon's question, it seems to be available for ~$250 + S&H from several places online.

Thanks for all the input, everyone!
