Rusty,

Why do you want to re-adjust your harness? I can see the value in the cinch for dive pros/schools etc but your average diver might need to tweak their harness once in a blue moon.

generally when i'm wearing my drysuit and the boat is rocking i would just find it easier to have the straps loose and then tighten them up once it's on.

Ah I see. In situations like that I just ask my buddy to give me a hand. On a rocking boat I like to be sat down and if my buddy is unable to help I slip into the harness by crouching down and then straightening my legs as I move an arm into the harness.

I guess the cinch would help but not enough for the dosh it costs :) Just my opinion and there have been times when I have cursed the continuous harness but it hasn't annoyed me enough to change it.

The problem with "fluffy" BC's is that the way many are made there is no way to remove things to make them less fluffy without destroying the whole unit. The fluff IS the unit.
So that's why we try and tell people that if they eventually want a unit with less fluff then just buy the one (the system/concept) with no fluff to start with and they will have bought their second unit first.
The thing is, many people who are new don't know about units with less fluff because the place they went to get certified will only expose them to fluff (most dive shops). So then they may hear rumors about different gear which sends them on an internet search and they eventually find us.
But true to SB form there will always be someone defending fluff, which is fine, but I ask them to consider WHY the OP's in these cases came here and asked the questions in the first place? If they were completely satisfied with their fluff then they never would have come here.

I actually know quite a few very experienced divers, some award winning underwater photographers/videographers with thousands of dives that use BCs that you would consider "fluffy". The point being, no one configuration fits all scenarios for all individuals. That is why choice is good. For the majority of the divers out there, who are recreational divers, who probably do 1 or 2 dive trips a year, maybe 20-40 dives a year, having equipment they are most comfortable with, versatile, and within their budget is what they should get. If they decide that is a jacket BC with large pockets, clips to hold their light or camera, I think that is just fine. Example, another good dive buddy of mine out in BC went from a BP&W setup to the transpac because the clip helped him get out of his BC much more easily. I personally use both a BP&W config and more "fluffy" BCs.
