I just bought a $12.00 bottle of vitamins and got a thirty dollar book (Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Phyllis A. Balch) for free at The Vitamin Shoppe. I don't know if they're all doing it. My gf has actually paid thirty bucks for one. Its like an enyclopedia. I just went straight to the liver section.

Scar tissue?! I thought that was my liver. The book mentions various toxic effect of supplemental vitamin A, but says that beta-carotene in foods is converted by the body into vitamin A only as needed so there is no risk of toxicity.
