reefraff, what was the problem with the inflator? I just got a Pioneer 27 a month ago and had heard nothing of it. Is this new model affected? Hank
Reef's post is about a year old, so Halcyon is no longer "in the middle" of anything.

They had some issues with the first batch of stainless steel power inflators. Some of them slowly leaked air into the bladder.

Read about it at http://halcyon.net/recall/index.shtml

Actually I was making fun of david since he was the one who resurrected the thread. If you want to take the blame, be my guest! :thumb:

I'm guilty. I didn't look at the date either.

Hank,

The Halcyon Eclipse comes with the "new" stainless steel inflator.

The first generation of thesel inflators had a design issue that caused the inflator to nick the o-ring. Over time, it caused a perpetual slow but steady inflation leak. I was one of the lucky ones to experience the problem.

They recalled & replaced all of the inflators with redesigned ones. I've been diving my new inflator for probably 9 months now, and have had absolutely zero problems with it.

I would not avoid Halcyon based on this one particular issue.

For anyone else, the original post is over a year old, so bear that in mind.
