going to oahu in a couple weeks

If you do the night dive on a Friday night they will at least get to enjoy the Friday night fireworks from off shore....very pretty

I'm more comfortable up at Makaha than at Electric beach, but I would almost say go to Point Panic and do Kewalo pipe. It's a paved parking lot, there are stairs down to the water, a fresh water shower next to the stairs and it's a simple dive and right in Honolulu. You are next to the boat traffic going in to the harbor so flag is a must. (It's the law) Just stay to the right and you'll stay out of the channel. If you look under the right reef formation you should find a white tip or two.

We leave Oahu at midnight on Friday. This is a short business trip actually. Only 1 day. I've extended so i can enjoy the warm weather

Can we rent dive flags at the shops? Are they required at all thes sites or just the one near the harbor?

Thanks alot you guys--for answering all these little nitnoid questions from a last minute traveler. Can't wait to get there too. It's been snowing here all day and we had over 6 inches of snow and 2 more coming. Current temp is 12F.
