As the title states, I am going into the tech world, My wallet happens to be along for the ride!

I am currently looking at three reg sets, the Hollis 212 with DC2 first stage, the Apeks xtx 200 and the Atomic B2.

These regs will serve on my doubles setup so hose routing and being environmentaly sealed is also something that I would like to condider.

I have heard alot of good things about each one the regs and talked to folks who have dove one of them.

Can any one give me an opinion that has dove two, or better yet, all three and can offer an opinion and explain why.

Thanks for all the help, Oh yeah, if you have a set and want to get rid of them, let me know as well.

question for you, cant remember but does the atomic B2 use titanium for some of its parts, if so may want to steer clear of that one. I believe alot of tech divers use the atomic M1 though.

Are you cave diving? In NFL? Unless you are diving the Great Lakes, I wouldn't worry about sealed, get the atomics, but the titanium free ones

I would concur with the Atomic M1's they are the same price as the B2 environmentally sealed, and Nitrox ready to 80% out of the box. I own several for back mounted doubles and deco bottles and love them. High flow pistons, very easy to breath on.

RJACK: I was under the impression that you should be diving sealed for water temps below 50 degrees. I would like these regs to not only function for a cave rig but also for deeper dives as well.

Also, I dive a local quarry where the bottom temps are 42-47 degrees all year at 90 fsw.

I dive my SPs year round here. Winter its 46F. Never had a freezeup. Then again I pump my own gas and I know its dry.

I have several friends that tech dive Atomic regs in the great lakes, including my tech instructor. He just switched to the Hollis DC2/212's on his doubles, but doesn't like how they breathe as much as his Atomics, so he's switching back. These guys all do deep cold dives, ice dives as well, with their M1's/B2's and all seem to be pretty satisfied and confident in them.

I'm told Atomics aren't the best bet for stage bottles tho, because of the seat saver feature. If the reg becomes depressurized, water could get into the second stage internals.
