My son and I just got back yesterday from Ginnie Springs. Yes, after cancelling this trip three times we finally made it for spring break. The weather was perfect for camping. We stayed three days and dove the Ginnie basin and the Devils system several times. The water was unbelievably clear and 72 degrees. The topside temps got up to around 85 every day. My favaorite part was the Ginnie cavern. The steel grate closing off the cave system was at 50 feet and the current was screaming. We had to fin like mad to get to it and then grab hold. The water rushing out felt like wind blowing on your face and the sound was like a train. Very cool! I'm going outside in the cold now to rinse all the sand out of the gear and put it up till Joe's opens. Hope to see some of you there.
