LOL! Just seeing how much lift your BC has :eyebrow: I have 18 acres of woods, you toilet paper that and I won't be handing you heavy objects I'll be hog tying you to them :crafty:

18 acres! I do like a challenge. :eyebrow: Fortunately for you, my little car just can't haul the amount of paper needed to really do a job I could take pride in!

I think I recognized a lady from the pumpkin carving. Didn't chat because I was on an airfill mission. (Buddy was diving twins.)

The tent thing made it. Unfortunately the good people that sold it to me, also sold me non-matching side panels - the zippers are different. I'm a bit bummed about that. So it was enough to create a wind screen, but not enough to enclose and heat to any effect.

The blue tent was better than what we had.... nothing. It was cold! We had one guy shivering uncontrollably during the SI. We all made dive 2, but I called it. I was just too uncomfortable to do any more valve shutdowns or bag deployments. Gilboa was not for the meek this weekend.

You guys should have came out Friday - it was GREAT! Got two fantastic dives in with 70+ ft of viz and balmy SI temps, and ended the day with a great big hunk of meat at Roadhouse!

Here's a quick trip report for yesterday's dive at Gilboa.

A breeze at around 10-20, but it was at least from a consistent direction. Some light rain, which was occasionally slushy. Sky was overcast.

First dive I had to cut short due to cold (diving wet). I didn't have enough weight on, so I hopped out, ran up, ran back down, and finally went under for about 30 minutes. Unfortunately all that fooling around cost us about 20 minutes of bottom time. :( (Sorry TripletDad!)

Second dive was to the tubes, where we stayed until my computer had under minute of no-deco time remaining. We ascended, and toured just about every inch above 40 feet. I surfaced with 527 psi after 52 minutes, not sure what my buddy had left.

Temperature at the tubes, you ask??? Surface water temperature was 55F, which dropped to an unbelievable :11: 53F at the tubes. Two computers and the thermometers don't lie!

The vis was good, say 20 feet in the worst areas.

We called it after two dives. Another dive would have had us driving out in the dark. We filled in our logs, I drank a Coke and Gatoraid, and we waited for a nitrox mix before heading out.

Friday definately looked like the day to be there, except for maybe Thursday. This baboon spent all his vacation though (a week of it was diving the Keys...ahh, those warm waters seem like such a far off place.) :coffee:

Oh to have been there Friday. It was quite chilly on the SI's yesterday but the diving was quite enjoyable. Steve was a great buddy and I'm looking forward to getting out there again. I still feel bad I was late in getting there but I don't think it would have made a difference in the number of dives. As long as we were in the water it wasn't bad (at least for me being dry :-) )but the wind made it a bit rough. No problem at all about the weight issue. An extra layer of neoprene I'm sure helped you and I was in the water so I was happy.

Glad you brought the tent too. At least it helped with the wind!

Some of the pumpkin carvers were up there I think you may have seen riffraff from here on the board, I know she was going to be up there all weekend.

Glad to hear the water is still warm, I've got students going up for check-out dives next weekend. Hopefully the wind will cooperate so I can heat my tent. Sorry to hear your zippers didn't match. Some tent is better than no tent at all though :D

riff-raff was there and so was I. She, I, Ted, and Dave all completed our SSI S&R coursework.

I thought I spotted some search and recovery toys down there! Congratulations on completing the course!:partytime
