I'm glad Matt was there for that first dive; My buddy is experienced, but I sort of scratched my head and wondered how you hook up an empty tank and not know it until you try to take a breath. I believe most of us eyeball that SPG as soon as we crank the 1st stage open. I gotta talk to that boy!

Matt was right, I was like a whale trying to keep a sinking ship afloat with my left flipper. I was way over weight with my new 120 steel; I thought it would be better to be just a little over weight on that first dive, and I figured I probably would be, but I totally underestimated just how over weight I was. Why I was listing to the left so badly, I really don't know, but when I shed 10 lbs. for the 2nd dive, I really straightened out in all ways--buoyancy, trim, and list. With that new steel, I no longer need my weight harness; all I used on the 2nd dive were my integrated bc weights. I really like that! Also, I already saved $8.00 towards the purchase price of the new cylinder--two dives on one fill, and the 2nd dive was almost an hour, and I had 900 left! Man, I'll get that 120 paid for in nothing flat!

I was really surprised that the viz was pretty good since we had a ton of rain during the week; evidently, Gilboa didn't get as much as I did where I live. All in all, a great day of diving; thanks Matt and Nathan. Sorry you couldn't make it misstopsail and Randy---next time:D
