Most likely it is just a coincidence...diving in cold water means diving in flu season. Cleaning the regs is a good idea, but it is unlikely that you would reinfect yourself with the same strain of virus each time (you should be immune after each infection).

Because scuba air is so dry, diving can dessicate the sinuses and airways, making you susceptible to viruses...the dry air in airplanes has been blamed for the crappy way we feel after long flights, too.

Inhalation of aerosolized sea water from a leaky reg can cause flu-like symptoms, but these sound like freshwater dives.

Get flu shots, and if you smoke, quit. Keep your equipment clean and serviced, wash your hands frequently, avoid common rinse tanks and other "shared" things like defog solutions. Not much else you can do...

I pick up non-alcohol mouth was for cleaning my regs mouth pice before a dive and after diving. The funny thing is I dive dry and use ultra400 undies so im never cold during the dive. I think It might be a chance that I get sick because of it being Flu season.
