Back in 2000 or so I was in Nassau when there was a hurricane offshore. Somewhere I have a video of me doing a Technical Hurricane Specialty:

Shark Diving in a Hurricane.

It was pretty choppy topside, but the course was worth every penny.

I bet there was more sharks to be seen than when its calm and crowded with divers :p

I am trying to ask serious questions, but I can't stop laughing.

Here are my serious questions.....

Is it worth diving the Panhandle or Gulf Shores this weekend after Isaac is stirring things up today.

Will the gulf still be churned up 4 days after a cat 1 hurricane?
What will the viz be like?
How are the fish and other sea life effected? Do they need a recovery period?

Are there any advantages or disadvantages of diving a few days after a hurricane?

Thanks,
Granny
