I'm curious of the outcome of this as I have this computer also.

Shaggie.... is there indeed water inside the main housing? (not just the battery compartment).

what were your results?

So far not much luck. I tried soaking it in 99.7% pure alchohol the bagged it and put a hair dryer on it. Probably not long enough though. When I have time I'll try again or maybe just take it to my local dive shop.

Wow.....what a timely piece of advice. Widget and Pesky, you guys just saved one of my kid's electronic cube toys (don't remember the name of it). He accidentally dropped it into a container of water and as it was going into shock I used the Pesky/Widget triage and brought it back to life. ....he thinks I'm the hero, but you guys actually saved the day.

Thanks,

couv

Great posts. Anybody got a line on a supplier of parts for the React Pro? The dive shops I've been to don't carry parts for older computers. My clear battery cover is cracked and I need to replace it before putting under pressure again. (I got really lucky. I thought the battery was dead and just needed to be replaced. When I took it out of the harness I saw the cracks and found verdigris inside the battery well. LUCKILY once I cleaned the contacts and put in a new battery it worked!)

any sherwood, oceanic, genesis, should be able to order it....

but I doubt many will stock it.

I googled and found this.

Oceanic Battery Kit 04.6175.40 with reviews at scuba.com

It is a battery kit. It doesn't show the cover as included, but one of the reviews said it came with a new battery cover. at $21.95 it's a rip-off price if it doesn't come with the battery cover, considering that you can buy the same battery at Walmart for $3 bucks. (I've got the React Pro and buy my batteries at Walmart. usually these are found in walmarts jewely section in their own battery display instead of the main battery centers that have mostly AA, AAA',s C's, D's 9v, etc).

I'd definately call and ask them if it has the cover before clicking and adding to cart and ordering. Especially for that price.

Something to check also if you can't find it... the Sherwood Wisdom uses the same battery and is made by the same company (Palegic). It might use the same battery cover
