I have an mk17/g250v with about 60 dives on it. Recently I've noticed that occasionally when I inhale, the second stage will have a high pitch whistle. I'm assuming it's the second stage because it sounds like it's coming from in front of me, not behind me. It's not a loud whistle and I'm fairly certain I'm the only one who can hear it. It doesn't do it all the time, but seems to be just long enough for me to notice and get annoyed, then it either stops or I just stop noticing. I'm not really worried about it at this point but more wondering what would be causing the sound. Is it something to do with how I have it adjusted or should I mention it next time I take it in for service?

My G250's whistle/honk while inhaling at the surface.
They don't do it while underwater. I used to have a couple
of S600's that did the same thing. I have no answer as to why
they honk, just that mine do it also. I've heard it's normal
for Scuba Pro second stages.

These regs do not "honk" or "whistle" as a norm; however, even though it does not appear so, the first stage many times causes this vibration or noise. I suggest you take the reg to an authroized SCUBAPRO Dealer and have the check the first stage o-rings and lubrication, etc.
