I bought my Ironman 200m G-shock as a back up timer for $25. Used it in both SW and FW and up to 120ft. No problems, still "ticking".
 
I've got 2 Gshocks, and they are great for when you are doing something that would destroy an "ordinary" watch-above or below the water.
 
Indestructible. look at any firefigher/paramedics wrist and tell me what you see, I use one everyday (including on my dives)
 
Any of the 200m Casio watches are fine. I bought the cheapest one about 6 years ago for about $20, have it on my wrist right now.
 
G shocks are great for diving - durable and affordable. Their construction handles salt water well. I use a G Shock Gulfman when diving, it has a tide graph as well, and it is excellent!
