Actually I think I saw you when I did my first pass around the lot, what color kayak? Did you see the NEA folks? Why the dead fish? Sorry if that sounds dumb, I was born landlocked.

Tall guy, orangish-yellow kayak, and yes the NEA folks were seining in the cove when I was heading out.

People either spearfish, or fish off the rocks there for tautog there all the time. Many times they filet the fish there and then just dump the left-overs in the water.

Yeah I think I saw you but I wasn't paying close attention since I was a little preoccupied with figuring out where to get in the water and trying to remember if my wetsuit had a key pocket.

Figuring out places to stash your keys is probably one of the most important skills for any shore diver to develop! :D

My suit does indeed have a key pocket :D Now I just have to remember not to leave my candy bar in the car ;)

I totally agree, ScubaSarus! I was snorkeling there last fall and saw some very pretty butterflyfish along the rock walls and algae in the coves...it's a nice place indeed. :D

ScubaSarus:
Snorkeling is awsome at Ft Wetherill. Stay along the edges of the coves and you'll see quite a bit. In the 2cnd week of Sept odds are you may see some tropical fish that hang out in the shallows along the sides of the cove that come in off the gulf stream.
