FSDA 2015 Florida State U/W Photo & Video Contest - Submissions due August 23rd

Dive Florida waters? Take Underwater Photos or Videos? Enter to compete for FSDA Florida State 2015 U/W Photo & Video Championships!

Submissions due by Sunday August 23rd. Awards and Prizes will given out at Guy Harvey Lionfish Safari in St Pete Beach on September 13th. Prizes include Dive trips, Camera gear and more to come!

Theme and Categories:

1. Macro Underwater Photo – any underwater photo where the subject is recorded as lifesize or greater.
2. Wide-Angle Underwater Photo - any underwater photo that shows a wider angle of view than the human eye (35mm focal length), including over-under shots (half in the water, half out) and close-focus wide-angle photos.
3. Lionfish Underwater Photo - the main subject of the underwater photo should be Lionfish. Show the beauty of this creature, show it being speared, show how it has invaded local reefs, etc. Both marco and wide-angle shots welcomed.
4. Underwater Video – any underwater video showing the beauty of the ocean, marine life, etc. Would especially love to see videos that depict Lionfish in our local reefs. This can include them being speared and removed from the reefs.

Criteria:

1. Photos and Videos must be shot in Florida waters.
2. Timeframe – Photos and Videos must be taken within last year (Aug 2014 –Aug 2015)
3. Photos and Videos cannot have previously placed (1^st, 2^nd or 3^rd) in any major contest that offered prizes of monetary value.
4. Contest entries must be submitted by midnight Sunday Aug 23^rd.
5. Entry fee is $35, which covers submissions in all four categories. FSDA members will receive a $20 discount on entry fee.
6. 1^st Place Winners in each category with receive trophies. Prizes will be awarded to those that place 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd in each category.
7. Winners will pick from prizes based on the total combined judge’s score per winning entry. Participants not have to be present at awards ceremony to receive prize.

Announced: Winners will be announced at the Reef Monitoring Guy Harvey Lionfish Safari on Sunday, September 13^th 2015 held at the Guy Harvey Outpost Resort St. Pete Beach FL.
