Daughter is relocating to Federal Way/Auburn area. I will be a frequent visitor and am a avid diver. I currently operate a charter on Lake Superior so cold water (34f) is normal. Im looking for a good charter boat or group I could link up with hoping to stay in touch with. Reverse of that anyone in the NW looking for some great cold water wreck diving can come see us in Duluth anytime!!!!! Isle Royale in August/September.

I live in Federal Way ... if you're looking for dive buddies when you visit, please drop me a line. There's a nice shore diving site about 2.5 miles from my home.

As for good charter operations ... check out Bandito Charters. They operate out of the south Sound, and are a highly reputable operation.

Would love to make it out your way sometime ... probably ain't in the cards for a couple of years though, due to other trips I've already planned.

Thanks and I will look you up. You never know when someday you just end up traveling this way so do indeed keep it in mind we will show you some nice wrecks.

In addition to the already mentioned Bandito Charters, a well run operation IMO, I'd like to recommend http://www.pacadventure.com/. Don and Diane are 2 of the nicest people and provide excellent customer service. They are located a little farther away in the Hood Canal area, but they are definitely worth the drive.

BTW, does your daughter dive? There are many excellent female divers in the PNW and would probably welcome one more.

She dosent dive YET but ive been encouraging her so who knows!!!! My kids seem a little reluctant to venture into the cold water enviornment so I just am holoding out for my 12 yr old. Ive had her to 15 ft. in the pool thus far. Fingers crossed lol.

You could explain to your daughter that Puget Sound is WARM... average temps are between 40 and 55 degrees.
So much nicer than your 34 degrees. :D

Let us know when your headed out this way. We will round up a few locals and show you the sites.

I also recommend Bandito Charters. Rick is a great captain. I have never had a bad trip with Bandito.

I'd like to add to the invitation! There are a bunch of us who enjoy introducing people to the great diving in Puget Sound.

Bandito Charters are excellent, and they have the advantage of running fairly regularly. But there is a lot of good shore diving, too, which doesn't involve getting up in the dark to drive to Tacoma . . . :)

Post here when you're headed out, and we'll make sure you get as wet as you want to!
