Free Dive after Scuba ... Is it bad? does it increase the risk of DCI? I would love to free dive some of the scuba sites i dive after the dive (SCUBA allows me to find the cool stuff and mark it, then free dive it later) How long is wise to wait after a dive ... ?

Dr Deco who used to post here very often had some great articles on this issue.

It would be worth your time to do a search for nucleation sites to find some more information.

Basically it is a bad idea, it is not so much the decent or bottom time of the freedive but the rapid and multiple ascents that increase the amount of bubble formation within your system.

If your going to freedive you should be doing it prior to your dives.
