big thumbs up to Chet. A year ago a buddy was helping me do some dives when her tank rolled off the Venture III into the ocean . We were diving the Stolt , I posted about this tank hoping someone would be kind enough to return the tank. A year later almost to the day my dive buddy got a call from the dive shop the VIP sticker was still on there (note to all a phone # on tank might be good). This way cool diver wanted to return it to its rightful owner.

Photo shows paint peeling and valve cap still on. First thing I want to do (after she takes him out to dinner, hey its HER tank) is check pressure and mix to see how well they held up after a year on the sea bottom. Next I'm gonna try and talk he outta that tank since I felt so bad she was helping me I bought her a new tank, ha ha ha.

Whats the odds?

It's creepy to think there are dishonest divers. I must be naive.

Used to not be the case, however, seems that people have no problem taking something that is not chained down anymore. Not within the particular clubs, but at major dive centers. We have had people wait until we were under, come over, dump all our gear on the ground and tote the table off. It's the old socialist mentality there. You have tables, I do not, I take your tables.

Goes along with the lack of etiquette going on in society. There are probably a couple of threads about that.

Glad you haven't experienced it.

It is hard to believe that anyone can take something that does not belong to you. I believe in Karma and I would hope that anyone stupid enough to take anything of mine knows that it is only a matter of time until they get what is coming to them.

There is no lower form of person walking the planet than a thief. Good luck and god bless if you are one of those people!
