forum to discuss Katrina, New Orleans, and the Aftermath...

I know with most storms, that it would go in the storm section,
but this is going to be an ongoing multi-month discussion
on events happening on the Gulf Coast. Might warrant
a forum of it's on, like the Tsunami did.

I agree that we need to get food and water to them ASAP, but with getting shot at and all the crime it is getting difficult. It really annoyed me today when they brought race into it. This has nothing to do with race, but again we do need to get them some serious water, food and medical attention. I started to cry when I saw the police officers crying. My heart goes out to them. I have made a donation, and my sister is in the National Guard and went there 2 days ago.

Mike,
Thank you for the suggestion... it certainly warrants discussion although I wonder if the Storm Watch forum is not already specific enough. I will put some thought into this and ask the mods & supervisors to give their own input as well. In the mean time anyone else is welcome to toss their idea into the hat.

Well, this discussion has already gone far beyond the storm as people are glued to CNN, paying attention to politics, discussing problems & needs, rising gas prices, how this affects them where they live, etc.

I completely agree, the question is simply where to let people discuss it all, be it the current forum or a new one. We're talking about it right now.
