When it comes to "SPLIT FINS" I developed the first pair and the design went into the future with the OPS. Nothing like switching gears to power up to the task. Frog kick with easy with rotating foil blades to the right angles. Twisting legs make no sense unless you are using a Paddle shaped fin. Interesting to note OPS was maded 25 years ago. Market still is not ready for better designs when the big topic on Scubaboard is the EDDY fin.....

@Bob Evans The excellerating force fin was made for a specific purpose, but what about the extra force fin? Was that fin made for a mission or just a natural evolution of the original and pro model?

shell my friend Skip Dunham felt the Pro Force Fin was underpowered for his Halbut spearfishing. Force fin is like a Lear Jet. He need a 747 and I created the Extra Force. Their is more to the story, and it's late here in Ojai, California. Will add more. Thanks Bob Pix of Ship who was President of Kirby Morgan at the time. So I made the Extra Force fin for my friend Skip.

Due to the length of the Force Fin Extra Force I Patent

first Vortex Generators. These small cones helped reduce the backside surface drag and helped to eliminate the swing side to side.

I had a pair of the extra force about 16 years ago. It sure was a stiff, massive fin. Too stiff for my legs. I now have the excellerating and they are easier on the legs, a really nice versatile fin for all conditions.

Proud to say I designed the Excellerating Force Fin for Captain Billy Deans. Another long story. But you are right, I love this model and it's fast and divers can easily do the Frog kick. Right?

Correct Bob, they frog kick and back kick just fine.

haped design. With the Extra Force fin I was very lucky to have had Bob Kirby's direction. One day he showed up at the 28 Anacapa Street work shop. I was slowly scalloping the ends of the extra. He grabs my sanding drill and goes to town on the master. He really dug out the shape making a more defined scoop. There is more.....
