Hi Ghoom
I flooded mine (with fesh water in the camera tank) in PNG and after drying with a hair dryer it worked for several weeks till the corrosion caused one of the springs to detatch, now I must take it to a repairer.
I have had a problem in the past and a local boy has fixed it - admittedly not third world but not posting it back to Ikelite so I would say definitely worth a try.
Finally I have only ever had one strobe and my comment would be not the end of the world if you have to dive with one not two..
