I just don't log dives
I'm visiting Atlanta for a couple weeks and can drive down to FL for two days of some shore / boat diving. I've been googling but I really don't know the area. Pensacola, Ft Walton, Panama City, Destin... beets me, I just don't know. Good boats? Buddies available to show me shore diving? Decent motels? ( Scuaboard buddies with trusting hearts and open guest rooms! )

Need help in making a plan. Thanks!

I live in Panama City, hands down...get on one of Panama City Dive Charters boats, or Better Bottom Time, shore diving is great at the Jetties in the St Andrews state park. Costs 8 bucks per car to get in the park, four dive shops within 1 mile of park entrance. You need to dive around the tides, but is easy to do. I just went to the Jetties on Wednesday of this week, BUT I am on vacation 8-11 thru 8-19, will be going to Michigan to visit family. Its a nice shore dive, about 25yds from picnic table to water. There is showers and a snack bar, but the park has no diving services....get tanks/fills before you get in the park, and you have to have a flag. hth Josh

Thanks all. I'm pretty good at google so I can find the sites of charters.

What I'm really hoping for ( a diver has to dream ) is a been-there done-that buddy who's available that weekend to do some shore or boat diving.

BTW, I'm an experienced diver so I'm not looking for a "guide", I'm just looking for a good buddy who knows the area.

So far I have a vote for shore/boat diving in Panama City. Too bad JEC is gone that weekend. I'm all in for some shore diving but I don't want to pack a float and would need a buddy.

So who wants to get wet? :)

The captains mentioned answer these questions everyday and are happy to help out. Happy to have you aboard, but also happy to provide info and try to point you in the direction of a LDS or area dive club that might have the guidance you are looking for.
