HAHA! Thanks for that! Turns out that we could GET to Little Cayman but no seats getting OUT on the day we need to fly...SO we are going to Cayman Brac! So now I need any advice or tips re Brac. I know the situation re the weekly food barge is the same but I can live on tortillas and beans for a week if I have to! Looking for a house rental that has 2 bedrooms/2 baths and is QUIET...Anyone have any ideas? North or South coast?

That happened to us last year so we decided to stay an extra day on LC (not a hardship!) The situation regarding the weekly supply barge is the same for Brac and Little, but Brac is a bit bigger and more populated and there are a few more stores and restaurants so you may have more options.

We always stay at the Cayman Brac Beach Resort but I know that there are placess for rent. Quiet is pretty easy to find on Brac (and Little!). Reach out to Vincent54, he spends a lot of time on CB and may be able to advise you. Or try reaching out to the folks at Brac Scuba Shack and perhaps they can make lodging suggestions.

Very pricy. Brac Beach Resort will accommodate vegetarians, as long as they know in advance.
Shopping for food on the sister islands is limited so IMO, a lot easier to have the chef at the resort do the running around and ordering.

I agree, but who knows? Maybe the OP is one of the "rich and famous"!

We will be heading to CBBR in less than 2 months and I can hardly wait!

Um, not "rich and famous"...but Le Soleil D'Or sounds great! We would stay at CBBR except I have a hubby who snores and thrashes at night so we need extra bedrooms! That gets expensive...
So my last Q is: is there any reason to NOT stay in West End? I read a post somewhere that said it was "smelly" and lots of mosquitos...Zika anyone?

So far there have been 4 or 5 cases of locally transmitted Zika on Grand Cayman but none on Brac or Little. The only time I was ever really bothered by mosquitoes on CB was when we went hiking around to visit the caves. It is in the tropics and so of course there are mosquitoes, but Cayman does a good job with mosquito abatement in general. Unlike many Caribbean islands they have a very low incidence of Dengue and Chikungunya and no problems with Malaria.

The CBBR where we stay is on the West End and I have never noticed bad smells. There is a wetland and I remember reading that people used to complain sometimes about marsh smells around the Alexander hotel, before it closed, but I have never experienced any problems.

The airport is on the west end but the planes come in infrequently and it has never been a problem, either.

There are some condos nearby to CBBR on the West End, I am sure you will find a lovely spot to stay. A lot of people live or stay on the West End. If I was looking for a place to rent I would start on the West End; but wherever you stay, the island is only 14 square miles so you won't be too far from things.
