We are going to be in the Ft. Lauderdale area the first week in May.
Our accomodations are in Weston about 25 miles from the ocean. Since we have to drive every day we should be able to fan out and use different dive shops. Please clue me in on what where and who. My dive buddy prefers to stay above 70 feet. Money is not really a problem. I get to dive warm water so seldom I just do not care what it cost. I'll eat beans when I get home.

BTW as I research areas to dive in Florida it becomes obvious that you guys have it made.

I hope the sharks are gone by May. Water Temp in May??

Thanks

I'll be diving with them on May 6,7, and 8. Hope this helps

... American Dream II.
They are on Pier 66, next to the Hyatt.
I live in Weston and use them regularly. They can accomodate to your needs (depth), though most dives are: first a wreck (45' - 70") then a drift dive (25" - 50').
You can find more info at: http://www.scubafortlauderdale.com/.
Happy Diving,
Pedro

Keep an eyeball peeled and you will see many more upcoming trips as the waters get warmer in April into may!!! --

Depends on how deep you are going..
Since I get cold easily, I will probably be using my skins and 3mil shorty. The hood will be gone! Whoo Hoo!

I would definitely agree with using American Dream II. If you're interested in doing some beach diving, let us know!

Hey thanks everyone. I will check these places out.

As far as shore dives I am interested. I wil check with my buddy.

How hard is the swim out? When you shore dive do you go out to the third reef or stay closer? Tell me more. I need stories I just got snowed out on Wed. and may ski this weekend. I need warm stories.

Thanks again

Would you think a 1 mil wetsuit or 3 mil for early May?

3 Mil. Iwas there in July once and it was 72' on The Captain Dan but only 64' on the shallower drift dive.

Wow, 72* in July? That does surprise me. I was there in Feb last year and it was 76* in Key Largo. I will take my 3 mil and head covering.Thanks.
