You do realize that you are going in the middle of hurricane season and Cozumel is certainly not immune. I wouldn't let that bother me, but trip insurance can be a cheap peace of mind.

If you were flying out of Cozumel, the day trip from Coz & return would make more sense, but since you're flying out of Cancun - I'd be tempted to do the last night at a PDC hotel for a mainland tour. Thanks for the tip. How long does the day trip take, more or less (from Coz)?
Since your a international tourist, you are automatically wrong until proven otherwise. It might make for an adventure trip, but I wouldn't do it.Thank you for all the useful info! Question: why do you suggest to get the full coverage? Is there a problem with MCC coverage in Cozumel?
San Gervasio, part of Cozumel island Parks and Museums FoundationThere are some Mayan ruins on Cozumel but they are off the beaten path. Ask around. I'm sure someone coudl guide you there.
