I was on board a ship that had a major fire. The good thing is that the heat and soot were not in the space that my gear was stored in.
The bad thing is, afterwards the space was open to the area that had a lot of smoke and soot, after it cleared. The smell did go into the space as well.

My biggest concerns are the BCD and my Regs.

My camera enclosure had been stored where it DID get covered with soot. I have washed the soot off.

What steps should I take to asses the damage and safety of the gear?
