Did two dives yesterday with the new harness. Surprisingly, I found that one shoulder strap was a little too loose. It was chaffing a bit. I guess you just have to get the thing all set up and wet before you know exactly how it is going to work out. It was easier to put on and take off than I'd imagined it would be. The BP/W/Hog set-up really tends to put you and keep you in a horizontal position...I liked it.

I've gone through the same thing with my BP/w. I thought I had it dialed in (on land). then I got it wet and realized I needed to take another 3 inches out of the shoulders. As it sits right now, I can chicken-wing out of it easily. I think it's adjusted correctly, but I will have to wait until next spring and get it wet again to be sure. At least it's fun to learn!

Would everyone agree that if you pull your shoulders back the straps of the harness slip outward?

That is what is happening to me and it gets irritating. I am seriously thinking of getting a chest strap because of this. I will give it a couple more dives though. I just find that a couple times in the dive I have to slip my fingers under my strap and move them closer together. Everything was done by the book and fits me perfectly. If I am diving with my hands clasped together, then no problem. But as soon as I spread my arms outwards the straps loosen up and move outward.

Any comments please?

Not sure what you are doing or how you have it fitted but mine never does that. (See profile pic...arms outstreched and no slop in harness)

If your shoulders are very narrow, as mine are, you can cross the straps behind your neck and get rid of that tendency to spread outward. It makes the plate sit a little bit lower on your back, though, and takes a little more webbing.

Something like that. What happens when you pull both arms back? Like trying to hold the bottom of the tank with both hands? Not sayin I do this but just want to know if my situation is normal or I need more help/work.
That hasn't been a problem either. I put my reel on my butt ring and reach back all the time.

What slot does the webbing go through on the bottom? It should go from top of plate to inside slot. Through the other slot to go over the waist.

or maybe its too loose.

It may be too loose. Like I said, I have to try it out more. Last weekend I was with students so I didnt want to play around with it.

TSandM: Narrow is probably the last word anyone would think of to describe me.

Any overweight divers out there use the BP/W? Maybe that is a factor.
