You come on here, with four completely irrelevant to anything photos
a current shot with old webbing, another time photo touching a plate
a ten years ago skinnier fitter you and plate talking about tank pulling

Go get your new webbing, set it up, watch vid then come talk about it

unless you just want to hang here and chat in which case hey let's chat

A fist is one point to give people an idea, a fist and a half can be better

A small fist needs two fists
Jesus guy, I think you need to change your name to grumpy diver.

For my new webbing today and set it up. One thing I notice is that when I have the backplate high enough to barely touch it, the straps are a bit tight. As I have it now (as shown in pics) I can chicken wing out of the harness but I'm about . 5" from touching the plate. It may look right but it's not

Release the crotch stap. Can you easily get itn and out of the harness? Good!

Everything else is preference (within reason).

I have always been able to get in/out of this kit w/o a problem. I am curious on the logic of being able to touch the plate. You could always move the tank up/down enough for that plate location not to matter much. I don't know i want to my my CG back another 2" by moving that plate down to the point where the straps are loose given I'm already leg heavy when diving.

Touching the plate is a rule of thumb for height (plates and people come in different lengths). As you say, tank height is also adjustable and that will have a greater effect on trim.

Main requirement is getting in and out of harness easily (put your left hand through shoulder strap first). Fist under shoulder straps is another rule of thumb.

Waist belt should be close to navel and crotch strap should put light tension on the waist belt (to take up slack on shoulder straps).

I don't use any lead. My 7# plate is enough weight for me w/ a 3 mil shorty and booties. Still slightly negative at 500psi. I've always been able to get out of my webbing but gaining weight made it harder

Dude thanks for the compliment but I'm a Muslim, and just as there is a standard for setting your plate height
so sky is blue, grass green so people can ask why so lay down and see if the plate drops and webbing tightens

Here's another one from the same lovely guy, just like me

Did you know a wrist between the body and the webbing is not a fist

Getting a bit tiring for you

you seem a hands on guy rather than anything else so assemble your rig and take it where it wants to go, diving

And then if you need to, make some adjustments
