Finally visiting LA like I promised!

The exploratory trip is almost here! I will be in LA from Jan 22nd-31st, and my wife will be joining me (job isn't flexible) for a weekend on Catalina the 29th-31st. Ofcourse, this means no Wrinkles dive, but have fun and plan on seeing us soon, if you all will have us!

Anway, I will be up for some diving on the 23rd or some weekday if anyone is planning some shore dives in the general LA area. Most of my time will be spent exploring with friends in an attempt to see as much of LA as possible. That should put me close to the water if I have anything to do with it. Let me know if you are heading out and I will keep an eye out here as well. My schedule should be pretty flexible.

Thanks all for your advice thus far. Many of you have been so nice with your tips and suggestions. It has really helped. My wife and I are excited about being members of your dive community!

BTW, only 95 days until COZUMEL! Just booked it tonight so I had to tell somebody!

Diver Jan, I have my eye on Reefseekers for the future but I fly in on the 22nd so that won't work. I do plan on taking a trip with them in the future though! Those 3 tank trips look good. They seem pretty friendly from what I have read and heard.

My experience (and that of some others) is that the Great Escape doesn't always get to its stated destinations. I had an extended debate with ReefSeekers about a trip I scheduled on it through them to Clemente that ended up at some poor sites on Catalina instead. Of course Ken has a pretty good reputation. I hope your trip goes well. Santa Barbara is one of the two Channel Islands I have yet to dive.

Anyway, doing some dives with Robert Phillips next wed. in Laguna (I hope) and would love to shore dive more if anyone is heading out in the LA area? Maybe Sunday? Monday? The next day? Also, my wife and I will be at Casino Point next Friday and Saturday so come on out and buddy up with us. Drop me an email if you are interested. I may have trouble getting on Scubaboard after Saturday but email does go to my cell phone. I would really like to try Redondo Canyon if sewer/weather conditions allow it...
