We are worried about the part where you carry the victim out of the water. Was it difficult to carry the victim?

Well - to be honest - it was not easy. I'm myself only 116 lb and when I did this first time I had a guy who was 211 lb. So after doing this exercise I was almost ready to be rescued :11:
After couple of times you master the technique. It still need a lot of strength but technique helps a lot.

Now how about starting that DM course? =D

DM is probable but before that I want to do AEAN - so to have a bit of technical training as well. As I wrote that will be spring - it's already rather cold here so either I'll get myself a dry suit or the diving season is over... :06:

Thanks for congrats...

Congrats Mania!

My wife & I just returned from Sharm and I printed your guide before we left so she could read it. She kept asking "What does mania think about ...... ?".

I personally have no interest in doing the DM course but have done AEAN and deco procedures and I'd suggest combining both of them as it's usually cheaper and to be honest I think the AEAN course on it's own is a bit of a ripoff as you don't really learn anything more than basic nitrox (well, I didn't - but I subscribe to lots of dive forums and spend more time reading scuba websites than I do working).

And even then, you still aren't qualified to do accelerated deco - you are supposed to plan deco dives on air tables and use a high o2 mix for more conservatism. (accelerated deco isn't taught until extended range).

I was thinking that doing DM in Sharm would be a great way to do alot of diving for 6 weeks. You can do 12-15 dives per week.. I couldn't care less about the card, but 600 euro + accom ($500USD/month for a house) for around 80 dives sounds like a good deal ;)

I hope the tips were usufull. It seems I'll have to do the second part because these were basic ones and more and more questions are raised.....

Well I still want to do it because I can learn some things which during my recreational training so far I havent' learnt yet. and I know the IANTD boss in Poland who will do my course and I know I can learn a lot from this guy!!!!!!!!
Anyway = I have to try myself to have an opinion ;)

Congratulations on your RESCUE. I completed my RESCUE this year while in Thailand. They added a few days onto it to be sure I had the confidence. I had to do everything correctly at least two times. I probably found it a bit more challenging, because I did not have the experience you gained with all those dives. Now I am going to focus on getting in the dives rather than getting anymore certs. I do not regret the way I did it as it was an extememly excellent course, but experience is needed to accompany it.

I live in Korea and have not had the motivation to do the traveling to its ocean to go divng. Korea is not Thailand or the Philippines :-).

Anyway, I am still a novice with a RESCUE cert. I think 100 dives would be a very special milestone.
