I finally got my OWD cert card. Hey everyone! I'm brand new here.

I had been planning/wanting to get into scuba for years. Finally had the time, priority and resources.

I'm shopping for steel HP100s now. I hear they are getting as scarce as hens teeth.

Those are nice - I love the downtime provided when diving them in the tropics.

Garmin is showing a SAC rate of 0.8 for a shallow (30ft) 40 minute dive in 80°F fresh water.

Is that typical for new diver? Seems like I'm a bit of an air-hog when comparing to my experienced dive buddies.

Just had my first fun dives last weekend at Bluewater park in Pelham, AL.

Congratulations! I just moved from Alabama myself- make your way down into the Panhandle for some spring diving and down to the Gulf to get on some of the wrecks! Welcome to the hobby.

Thank you! I'm excited. I've been watching videos of spring diving.... I can't wait to get into clearer water. For now, work and life has me in the quarry.

But soon...
