I'd like to hear from anyone who has done some shore diving from Fiesta Americana. How much for tanks from Dive House? Best to dive out front of the resort or shlepp gear up to Dzul Ha and drift back to FA? Some other dive profile?

Anything that you did that you wouldn't do again? Anything that you did that you wouldn't miss?

Thanks,

Rich Hagelin

Current usually runs south to north there Rich, so getting in at Dzul-Ha and drifitng back to FA is not usually an option. You could get in at FA nad drift to Dzul-HA, but best to check with the dive shop staff when renting your tanks to see what the conditions are at the time. They usually know. Tank and eight rental should be in the $5 to $6 range.

The roped in area at FA is up to 30 feet and has a few small coral heads with resident morays. Other than that it is fairly clean sand. The week I spent there 7 years ago I did it only once. The rest of the week I walked to Dzul Ha and snorkeled back. Inshore current was north to south all week. Not too far out it switched to south to north. I'm not sure how common or large that eddy effect is.

Hey Rich,
I think we'll be there at the same time. I'd be willing to give it a try. Might be a waste of 5 bucks and a short walk, might be worth it!

I've spent more than 5 bucks on dives worse than a Cozumel shore dive!

Enjoy Cozumel,
Matt
