1. Has anyone ever booked this hotel throught Funjet? If so what type of room do you get?

2. How much is the cab fare to town?

3. Do you have to dress in anything other than shorts, t-shirt, and flip flops for dinner?

thanks

No T-shirts, flip-flops, or shorts when I was there (For dinner), but of course lunch/breakfast across the road it was OK.

I can understand no swimsuits or flip flops for dinner,

but no shorts? Surely dinner there can't be that "formal" ?

I did not book through Funjet.

I did not eat dinner on the resort, so I don't know the dinner dress code.

Cab fare into town was $6 U.S. each way.

Bathing suits, t-shirts and/or wetsuits were fine for the dress code for breakfast and lunch.

I don't know about FA, but from what I have seen posted here, some of the southern resorts definitely require long pants for dinner. It's yet another reason for me to avoid them... ;^)

By southern resorts you mean "southern cozumel?

I've been to resorts on other islands in the Caribbean that require long pants and even a suit jacket (suggested) for dinner, but they were all in pre-designated "formal" dining rooms. There were always other options though for those who didn't want to wear long pants, such as another dining room or the "terrace" (buffett) restaurant or patio restaurant.

I think it's nice if you want to get dressed up one night, but while on vacation I have no desire to wear slacks and a suit jacket to dinner EVERY night. I will put on a nice pair of khacki shorts and a golf shirt (collared short sleeve) for dinner though w/o problem.

Absolutement. This is a forum about Cozumel, innit? ;^)

When I am on Cozumel, I have no desire to don a pair of long pants - ever. YMMV, of course.

I have stayed at many of the "Southern resorts" and never been required to wear long pants for dinner. They do prefer collared shirts and something other than bathing suit shorts for dinner. Don't be "that guy" who wears a tank top and wet shorts to dinner. I usually pack one or two pairs of kahaki shorts and several collared Hawaiin shirts for dinners out. The rest of the time bathing suit shorts work just fine.

The Occidental Grand does require long pants for the men in the restaurants for dinner. Shorts are OK in the buffet only (dinner that is).

Shorts and t=shirt are OK at breakfast/lunch.

PS Don't know about FA, but am curious since I will be staying there this trip.
